Our ideal applicants will provide prompt, courteous and professional delivery/pickup service to multiple facilities and will also contribute to the Health Systems' mission of helping people achieve and maintain healthy lives and restoring wellness/health to maximum attainable levels. Here are the specifics about the positions we currently have available: Couriers in these positions drive Company vehicles (when needed) and will be making deliveries and pickups of many different items including, but not limited to: lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, interoffice mail, parcels, boxes, equipment, supplies, laundry and linens. $18 per hour to start Part-time position, 2-5 days per week;

Schedule:

Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. until about 5:00 or 6:00 p.m . (busier days could go as late as 7 p.m.) Additional days filling in for other drivers can be picked up, Monday through Wednesday (same hours) Some weekend hours, potentially Possible full-time in the future Vehicles are equipped to hand New England winters appropriately. These deliveries will include sensitive materials such as confidential names, medications, and addresses that require the upmost care and respect.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have clear background and clean driving record Drug screening Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) Must meet all requirements of our insurance carrier Must have 5 years of winter (snow/ice) driving experience Must have your own smart-device and be proficient with using apps & GPS Have your own Bluetooth device for hands-free calls while driving Walking, up to 2+ miles per day Physically be able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move/push/pull/lift items (sometimes of large and irregularly shaped) weighing up to 50+ lbs., (proper equipment is provided for assistance)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operating a company-owned mini-cargo van OR SUV and maneuvering into loading or unloading positions Delivering to customers in a timely, professional, helpful manner Communicate with management/dispatch Follow route and time schedule, but have flexibility for possible add-on "STAT" pickups Keeping vehicle clean and refueled each day Reporting vehicle maintenance and mechanical issues Working in a fast-paced work environment Completing inside office pickups and deliveries Following all traffic laws and regulations Please note this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
