Election Officers (Mail in Voting) City Clerk & Elections City of Worcester The City of Worcester is seeking qualified individuals to serve as temporary Election Officers for Mail in Voting in the Elections Office for the Office of the City Clerk. Under the direction of the City Clerk, the position will assist the office to prepare for the mail in voting period that is anticipated to begin on June 1, 2026, and conclude December 31, 2026. The Election Officers must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and the ability to lift and handle materials and equipment for up to forty (40) pounds. Additionally, the applicant must have the ability to stand and or sit for prolonged periods of time. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
Performs considerable customer service Prepare mail in ballots Process mail in ballot applications in the state voter registration system Ensure that election laws are followed Record election activities Pack up materials at the end of the day Performs related work as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic Ability to operate an iPad Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, regulations and established policies Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations Regular onsite attendance is required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in customer service role Must be a US Citizen and a registered voter Excellent written and verbal communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference given to Worcester residents Experience with electronic devices Experience with logging data and record keeping Experience working with diverse populations
