A Brief Overview Provides pickup and delivery service for supplies, mail, specimens, instrumentation, deposits, and print shop materials to all departments within the Children's Hospital & Medical Center Enterprise. Maintains appropriate logs and records, and performs various routine clerical functions as specifically instructed. Operate a handheld scanning device to log and track each item throughout the transportation cycle. Maintains clean DMV record and operates vehicles in compliance with all CHMC policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal motor vehicle regulations. Utilizes a manual and electric pallet jack to load and unload vehicles and organize supplies in the warehouse. Maintains the ability to drive and operate a standard box truck with a lift gate to deliver to various buildings with different style of loading docks. Essential Functions Follows an established daily schedule, transports various items to and from off campus locations, ensuring proper care of items handled during transport. Ensures Items are documented and delivered with a 99% accuracy rate. Prepares and maintains accurate transportation logs, vehicle service logs, and other data as required. Transports medical specimens as appropriate, following safety, environmental, and infection control methods, including the use of proper PPE at all times when required by CHMC policy. Transports deposits from off-site locations to the security department. Picks up mail from US Post Office, assists in sorting mail into appropriate locations. Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.
Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section Education Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. Required Skills and Abilities Must possess a valid motor vehicle license. Good reading skills maintain a high level of productivity. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
