This energetic position requires a proactive approach to route driving, manual handling, and customer service. As a key link in the healthcare logistics chain, you will operate various vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, to deliver essential items efficiently and securely. Your dedication will directly impact patient care and healthcare operations by maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism. Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks or personal vehicles to transport medical supplies and specimens between facilities. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment like pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices. Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and company policies to ensure timely deliveries. Verify delivery details, complete necessary documentation, and obtain signatures or electronic confirmations upon delivery. Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance. Communicate effectively using mobile devices to coordinate routes, report issues, or update delivery statuses. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with healthcare staff at delivery sites and addressing any concerns promptly. Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations or delivery driving is highly preferred. Valid driver's license with experience operating commercial trucks or vans; a clean driving record is essential. Experience with manual transmission vehicles and manual handling techniques for moving heavy or bulky items. Knowledge of DOT regulations, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices is required. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely. Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow detailed routes and schedules accurately. Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and providing top-tier customer service.
