We need motivated self starters to deliver The Oregonian as independent contractors for the greater Portland Metro Area (Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties as well as parts of Yamhill and Columbia counties) . This is a great opportunity for supplementing your income. Deliver early in the morning... keeps your days free for other things. Ideal for those looking to work a second job, stay at home parents, care-takers, retirees, students or for anyone looking to earn some extra cash working part time, just a few days/hours a week. The average delivery driver earns $1,300 per month including money for gas PLUS tips for no more than 15 hours of work per week! Each driver gets at least 3 days off each week! The Oregonian is delivered on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Newspaper carriers have been providing deliveries to Oregonian subscribers for over 100 years! This is reliable, consistent income.

Duties:

• 4 days per week. Routes average 3 hours per day.
• Overnight hours. Average start time of midnight.
• Bag papers before delivering
• Accurately deliver to all customers on a route list in delivery order in a timely manner
• Deliver papers to proper location as requested by the customer (ie driveway, porch, tube at mailbox)
• Work independently without supervision.

You are welcome to bring a friend, your kids to help you on the weekends or even your dog while delivering newspapers!

Requirements:

• Have a reliable vehicle
• Have valid drivers license and proof of insurance
