POSITION GOAL

Deliver and manage all USDA & purchased inventory between schools. Assist in receiving and organizing storerooms, freezers and coolers at all schools. Load and deliver meals and supplies to locations as directed. Assist at Special Events including cookouts. Assist in school kitchens or warehouse when needed. Daily duties will be assigned by Food Service Directors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:

Unload cafeteria vendor trucks and storing of perishables in coolers /freezers/storerooms.

Load and deliver cafeteria supplies and food from location to location. This includes USDA food, cafeteria inventory and meals.

Organize and help in school kitchens or Special Events as needed.

Keep a daily inventory of USDA foods at warehouse location.

Make bank deposits for schools as needed.

Pick up delivery vehicle and maintain with respect to fuel and routinely checking oil.

Assist warehouse personnel, as necessary, in order to expedite the receiving and delivery of supplies during busy times

Required to be certified to drive and use forklift.

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

MENTAL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required to stand for prolonged periods: sometimes required to move heavy objects such as food or equipment; may be exposed to fumes and noise from power equipment; position may include working in inclement weather.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent

Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, dependability and skill in warehouse related duties

Possess a valid PA driver's license

Good communication skills; able to follow written and oral instructions

Current Act 24 (82), Act 34, Act 114 and 151 clearances, pre-employment drug test and physical with TB test

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate custodial equipment

Stand for extended periods of time

Lift and /or carry up to 50 pounds overhead for short distances

Lift and /or carry up to 80 pounds at waist level for short distances

Push / pull up to 100 pounds

Bend at waist, kneel, crouch and stoop

Reach overhead, above shoulders and horizontally

Exposure to temperature extremes

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

12 months per year; 8 hours per day

Salary and benefits according to the agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Hazleton Area Education Support Personnel Association.
