Inclusive Excellence Statement Advertised Job Summary The Postal C supports USC Postal Services by processing, tracking, sorting, and delivering mail and parcels for the University community, including approximately 9,000 on-campus student residents. Responsibilities include operating postal tracking and mailing systems, processing outgoing University mail, maintaining delivery routes and vehicle records, and managing student package operations. The role also serves as a U.S. Department of State Passport Acceptance Agent, providing passport application services and maintaining required certifications. The ideal candidate has strong customer service, attention to detail, and organizational skills, can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and is able to perform physical duties including lifting and moving packages up to 50 pounds. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years work experience and knowledge in postal courier, postal delivery or mail processing/shipping operations.
  • Be certified as an U.S. Department of State Passport Acceptance Agent.
  • Knowledge of USPS guidelines / regulations and experience in postal related operations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Above average computer skills, including ability to utilize USPS and UPS websites to determine postal rates, mailing requirements and ability to learn other software programs associated with USC Postal Service daily operations.
  • Good reading, comprehension and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and others.
  • Attention to detail is crucial in all aspects of job duties.
  • Ability to operate a delivery vehicle and straight box truck with lift gate in varying conditions for mail and parcel deliveries/collections.
