Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains quality standards and safely performs duties while providing excellent customer service. Operates motor vehicles (van or station wagon) on a regular and routine basis. Daily delivery, pickup and carrying mail to and from assigned stops. Accurately and efficiently sorts mail and makes mail pickups and deliveries. Provides security for all mail during deliveries. Receive and document courier packages. Ensures distribution of mail is accepted by authorized official military/government personnel. Obtains receipts for articles delivered and keeps a log of mail-related items received and delivered; delivers items to offices and departments within an establishment. Obtains signatures from recipients of special delivery mail. Maintains and generates necessary records required by the contract as well as those required by Goodwill for mail services. Completes appropriate computer data entry. Advises patrons on the applicable postal service and Federal regulations. Assists in training assigned individuals in all phases of a mail center operations. Responsible for ensuring equipment and supplies are used, maintained, stored, and replaced properly; ensure safe operation at all times. Maintains a safe and orderly work environment. Responsible for performance of safety drills and keeping the work site within OSHA standards. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications Must be able to: Operate manual and mechanized postal center equipment. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Obtain and maintain the required security clearance as stipulated by contract.
