MEAL SERVICE TECH I.

General Responsibilities Meal Service Tech will deliver meals daily to the homes of Meals on Wheels clients. They must provide their own transportation and gasoline. Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director with oversight from the Volunteer Coordinator. II. Specific Responsibilities A. Delivery of meals on routes as assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator. B. Report any client who does not answer the door or appears to have unmet needs. C. Inform clients and MOW staff about safety, health or fire hazards identified in the clients home when hazards are discovered. D. Be available to deliver Groceries on Wheels, Pet Food on Wheels, Books on Wheels, etc. as needed. E. Respect the confidentiality and rights and privacy of the clients. F. Keep a mileage log for reimbursement. G. Respect the confidentiality, rights and privacy of all clients. H. May be called on to perform other duties necessary to the overall operation of the program. Minimum Qualifications A. The drivers are expected to have a current driver's license and current automobile liability insurance equal to the minimum limits required by Texas on all vehicles used to deliver meals. B. Must be 18 years of age or older. C. Must have a safe driving record and pass drug screening. D. Be clean and neat. E. Be dependable. F. Have knowledge of problems, limitations and challenges affecting senior adults and persons with disabilities. G. Have a pleasant character, disposition and genuine concern for the welfare of senior adults and persons with disabilities.
