FortiCube LLC is seeking dependable, professional 1099 Independent Contractor Delivery Drivers to provide last-mile package delivery services throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and surrounding DMV areas. This opportunity is ideal for independent drivers who have a reliable vehicle, enjoy working independently, and are looking for flexible delivery opportunities.
COMPENSATION
FortiCube LLC pays independent contractor drivers a flat rate of $90-$130 per completed route. Route pay is determined by factors such as package volume, delivery area, route size, and overall route requirements. The flat rate for each route will be communicated before the driver accepts the route. Drivers completing approximately five routes per week may earn approximately $450-$650 per week. Additional route opportunities may be available depending on route volume, driver availability, and successful completion of accepted routes. Routes are not guaranteed. Package volume, delivery areas, route availability, number of workdays, and weekly earnings may vary.
SCHEDULE & ROUTE AVAILABILITY
Warehouse pickup location: Elkridge, Maryland Pickup window: 6:30 AM-11:30 AM Available routes are first come, first served. Drivers are not guaranteed a particular route, territory, daily package count, or number of routes per week. Delivery areas may include Maryland, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and surrounding DMV locations. Once a route is accepted, drivers are expected to complete the assigned route the same day within the required delivery window.
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
Independent contractors are responsible for: Picking up and organizing assigned packages Safely transporting and delivering packages Using the required delivery/navigation application Taking clear and accurate proof-of-delivery photographs Verifying delivery addresses before leaving packages Properly documenting any legitimate undeliverable packages Completing accepted routes within the required delivery window Following all applicable delivery and safety procedures Communicating promptly regarding delivery issues or route exceptions
PROOF OF DELIVERY
Accurate delivery documentation is extremely important. Drivers are expected to provide clear proof-of-delivery photographs showing the package and delivery location. When an address or unit number is not clearly visible, additional photographs may be required showing the package, front entrance or property, and a visible property address, apartment number, or mailbox.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have: Valid driver's license Reliable delivery-capable vehicle Current vehicle registration Current automobile insurance Smartphone with active data service Ability to use GPS/navigation and delivery applications Ability to safely load, transport, and deliver packages Dependable attendance and professional communication Ability to work independently and manage an assigned route Ability to complete accepted routes within required delivery windows Previous courier or delivery experience with Amazon, DoorDash, Roadie, Veho, Spark, or similar delivery services is helpful but not required.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS & EXPENSES
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity and is not W-2 employment. Independent contractors use their own vehicles and are responsible for their own fuel, vehicle maintenance, taxes, tolls, parking when applicable, mobile service, and other ordinary operating expenses. Applicable claims procedures, insurance-related requirements, potential deductions, and contractor responsibilities will be disclosed and reviewed during onboarding before the contractor begins accepting routes.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
There is an initial settlement/arrears period before the first payment is released. New contractors should be financially prepared to cover their vehicle, fuel, and other operating expenses during this initial period. Following the initial settlement period, payments are issued according to FortiCube's established weekly settlement schedule. Complete compensation, settlement timing, claims procedures, and onboarding requirements will be disclosed and reviewed before the contractor begins accepting routes.
