Do you share a passion for good food and building community? Are you energized by the idea of a high energy environment with a focus on sharing healthy meals? If so, then Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh wants you to join our exciting new business enterprise, the Savor food truck! The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide help to our brothers and sisters in need by alleviating the effects of poverty and create hope by developing solutions to transform lives. Our newest program, the Savor food truck, was designed to create a sustainable funding stream to support this mission. Savor will operate as a traditional food truck with all proceeds supporting Mobile Food Pantries for our neighbors in need. The Cook for Savor Food Truck will serve as a customer service-oriented staff member on a single unit level. The position will implement the mission of Catholic Charities while carrying out the vision of the Savor food truck. They will participate in all food production, on-truck activities, and event execution. •Job responsibilities will involve travel and some work beyond the regularly scheduled workdays, i.e., weekends and evenings as scheduled, and as needed.Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; 1-3 years of experience in culinary, food truck, or hospitality environments; culinary background required; strong understanding of daily food truck needs and the ability to drive a large vehicle; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; coordinate and manage large groups of people; proven computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of and commitment to Catholic social teachings and practices and the mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh; valid NC Driver's License and a clean driving record; authorized to work in the U.S.; willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.
