$18.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience Reports to: Owner About the store We're a 24-hour Chevron-branded convenience store and fuel center in Springville. Small team, steady traffic, and an owner who is engaged and reachable. This is a hands-on manager job — you'll run the store, not watch it from an office. What you'll own Day-to-day operations. Open-to-close accountability for a store that never closes: cleanliness, stock levels, fuel islands, coolers, restrooms, and curb appeal. Scheduling and staffing. Build and post the two-week schedule, cover call-outs, and keep all three shifts (7 AM-3 PM, 3 PM-11 PM, 10 PM-7 AM) staffed. Hire, train, and coach store associates. Cash and inventory control. Shift reconciliation, deposits, fuel readings, and cigarette/beer counts. Investigate shortages and fix the cause, not just the number. Ordering and vendor deliveries. Place orders, be there to receive the truck, and check every invoice against what actually came off it. Manage DSD vendor relationships and hold them to their delivery windows and credits. Food program. Run the food side of the store — prep, hot case, rotation, temp logs, dating, and waste. Keep the store ready for a health inspection on any given day, not just when one is coming. Pricing. Maintain retail pricing in the POS, keep shelf tags and signage matched to what rings up, and update prices when cost changes come through. Flag margin slippage instead of absorbing it. Sales and margin. Watch what moves and what doesn't. Keep planograms and cooler resets current, run promotions, and protect margin on high-shrink categories. Compliance. Age-restricted sales (tobacco and alcohol), food handling permits and food safety, fuel and environmental logs, and OSHA basics. No exceptions on ID checks. What we're looking for Gas station or convenience store experience is required — 2+ years, with at least 1 year as a shift lead, assistant manager, or manager Proven experience managing employees: scheduling, training, coaching, and holding a team accountable Hands-on experience with inventory, retail pricing, and receiving vendor deliveries Food handling knowledge and the ability to hold a valid food handler's permit (we'll cover the cost if you don't have one yet) Comfortable with a POS and back-office system; can work in Excel well enough to build a schedule and read a sales report Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to respond when something breaks at 2 AM Clean, organized, and honest with money Must be 21 or older (alcohol and tobacco sales) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Successful background check and drug screen Nice to have: fuel island and dispenser troubleshooting, hot case or deli program experience.
