Fueling Superintendent - Aviation Jet Fueling Systems Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fueling Superintendent to support aviation fueling construction projects nationwide. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing aviation jet fueling infrastructure projects at commercial and general aviation airports. The Fueling Superintendent will lead field operations in active airport environments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA, NFPA, API, ASME, and airport authority requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead field operations for aviation fueling projects, including fuel farms, aboveground and underground storage tanks, hydrant fueling systems, pump stations, filtration systems, control systems, and distribution piping. Plan, coordinate, and execute work in live airfield environments while ensuring strict adherence to airport operations, safety, security, and badging requirements. Manage jobsite logistics, manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to support safe, on-schedule, and on-budget project delivery. Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, including compliance with NFPA 407, site-specific safety plans, fuel operational safety procedures, and airport authority regulations. Direct and supervise field personnel to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved construction documents, specifications, codes, and standards. Prepare, maintain, and update short-interval and master construction schedules while coordinating with Project Managers and airport stakeholders. Track and analyze field productivity, quantities, and progress, identifying and resolving issues that may impact schedule or cost. Review final estimates and work packages to ensure scope clarity, constructability, and execution accuracy. Assist the project team with RFIs, constructability reviews, and field-driven solutions to design or scope challenges. Provide regular and accurate reporting on project status, safety, quality, and schedule to the Project Manager. Build and maintain positive working relationships with airport authorities, owners, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Qualifications & Requirements 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on aviation jet fueling or petroleum fueling construction projects. Proven experience working on or around active airports, including compliance with security, badging, and airfield operational constraints. Strong working knowledge of aviation fueling systems, including: Fuel farms and storage tanks Hydrant fueling systems and pits Underground and aboveground fuel distribution piping Pumps, filtration, meters, and control systems Fuel operational safety and commissioning support Thorough understanding of construction means and methods, productivity analysis, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and site safety. Ability to interpret and execute work from plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Willingness and ability to travel nationwide as required. Ability to obtain and maintain airport security badging. Bachelor's degree in a related field may be considered in lieu of some field experience.
