Job Description

Overview The Gas Station Attendant sells retail merchandise inside the convenience store while providing outstanding customer service. Preforms daily inspections of fueling equipment and maintains the convenience store and all equipment in accordance with Enterprise and Exxon Mobil standards. Responsibilities Delivers exceptional guest service (i.e., prompt, friendly, professional, and responsive), using proper greeting and departure phrases and service standards established by management. Interacts with tiered card players in order to assist with the redemption of casino promotions as applicable. Provides customers with information on casino events, casino promotions, local attractions, wineries, and directions as needed. Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill, accepting payment and making change. Communicates product information of convenience store inventory. Sets up advertising and pricing displays inside of convenience store to promote sale items and promotions. Sets up brand-specific advertising outside of convenience store in accordance with Exxon Mobil's marketing strategies and plans. Communicates station concerns and customer's questions and concerns requiring immediate attention to the Service Station Supervisor and/or Service Station Manager in a quick and effective manner. Accepts orders from vendors, ensuring accuracy of invoices as compared with merchandise being delivered. Uploads all deliveries into inventory systems for processing and inventory control. Tracks and processes products that need to be returned to vendors for credit as applicable. Inspects all products to ensure that no product is available to customers past the expiration date. Stocks products onto shelves immediately after vendor deliveries, on the floor and in the cooler and freezer as needed. Performs weekly inventory on all products in the convenience store and communicates this with the Service Station Supervisor. Removes and records amount of cash in register at the beginning and end of shift. Responsible for daily variances of assigned registered during shift. Operates CA Lotto equipment in accordance with company and California Lotto rules and regulations. Keeps the facility clean and orderly, which includes cleaning and stocking restrooms as needed, sweeping, and mopping floors, emptying trash, and picking up debris. Assists customers at fuel island and car wash with any questions or needs. Fills propane bottles in accordance with company and propane vendor rules and regulations. Prepares coffee and ensures coffee, fountain drink, and food areas are clean. Cleans fueling equipment daily. Follows all spill clean-up procedures as dictated by the county's Hazardous Materials Unit. Paints fuel island curbs weekly or as needed. Chumash. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Previous experience in a retail sales environment is preferred. Compliance with state ABC requirements within 60 days of hire to sell alcohol. Compliance with state requirements within 60 days of hire to sell tobacco. Completion of the SERV safe certification for food safety within 60 days of hire. Completion of the state required fuel safety program within 60 days of hire. Must complete training on CA Lotto sales policies and regulations within 30 days of employment. Must complete propane dispensing training with appropriate vendor within 30 days of employment. Previous cash handling experience in preferred. Basic proficiency utilizing point of sale systems. Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet. Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends. Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency. Native American hiring preference applies.
