Job Description

Overview We are seeking two dynamic and energetic Keyholders to support the operations of a new gas station and store. This pivotal role requires a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. As a critical member of the leadership team, you will support daily operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. The Keyholder must maintain sufficient schedule flexibility to support evenings, weekends, holidays, employee absences, and other operational needs. Employee Responsibilities
  • Lead store operations during assigned shifts and serve as manager on duty when the General Manager and Assistant Manager are unavailable.
  • Open and/or close the store as scheduled and complete required security, key, safe, and alarm procedures.
  • Provide employees with basic direction and assign or prioritize routine work to ensure appropriate customer coverage and completion of shift responsibilities.
  • Communicate employee attendance issues, performance concerns, policy violations, or other significant employee matters to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Provide courteous customer service and assist customers with locating and selecting products.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process cash, card, refund, discount, lottery, and other transactions.
  • Count and reconcile cash drawers, complete required cash drops or safe procedures, identify shortages or overages, and report cash discrepancies according to company procedures.
  • Complete assigned lottery cash handling and reconciliation procedures accurately and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Verify customer identification, comply with all legal and company requirements for age-restricted sales, and refuse prohibited transactions.
  • Resolve routine customer complaints, pricing concerns, transaction issues, and other customer escalations within established authority and refer significant matters to management.
  • Respond appropriately to store security, safety, loss-prevention, or operational issues and promptly escalate significant incidents to management.
  • Restock, face, price, rotate, and organize merchandise throughout the shift and identify low-stock, damaged, expired, or missing products.
  • Assist with deliveries, stocking, inventory counts, displays, and maintaining organized storage and cooler areas as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and customer-ready sales floor, register area, cooler, stockroom, restroom, fuel-area surroundings, and other assigned store areas.
  • Complete required opening, closing, shift, cash, incident, and other routine store documentation accurately.
  • Follow and help maintain company procedures related to cash control, security, loss prevention, safety, timekeeping, workplace conduct, customer service, and store operations, and perform cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and other duties as assigned. Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of retail, convenience-store, gas-station, grocery, or customer-service experience preferred.
  • Previous keyholder, shift lead, or other experience involving responsibility for a store or shift preferred.
  • Experience operating a register, handling cash, reconciling drawers, and completing opening or closing procedures preferred.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide basic direction to coworkers and independently handle routine store issues during assigned manager-on-duty shifts.
  • Ability to remain calm and use good judgment when handling customer complaints, cash discrepancies, employee issues, or unexpected store situations.
  • Ability to learn and use point-of-sale, lottery, cash-management, and other store systems accurately.
  • Must be dependable and available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and other assigned shifts.

  • Frequently stands, walks, bends, reaches, stoops, and moves throughout the sales floor, stockroom, cooler, and other store areas.
  • Regularly lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, and moves merchandise and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to safely use step stools or ladders and operate registers, computers, phones, keys, locks, and other store equipment.
  • Work is performed primarily indoors in a retail environment, with occasional exposure to coolers, varying temperatures, cleaning products, dust, noise, deliveries, and outdoor conditions.
  • May be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and additional hours based on business and staffing needs.

Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
