Job Description
Under general supervision, provides assistance to aircraft personnel in directing aircraft to appropriate spaces, refueling and towing aircraft, and performing maintenance duties as needed. The position works 12 hour shifts, averaging 40-50 hours per week. Operates a variety of equipment and machinery in the performance of duties; operates tug and towbar in moving aircraft; operates fuel farm ground pump system in loading fuel onto refueling trucks; operates air compressor in order to pump air into tires as needed; moves aircraft to tiedown spaces as directed. Makes minor repairs to airport equipment as needed; ensures that equipment and machinery are maintained in proper and safe working condition at all times. Directs aircrafts upon arrival; provides assistance to aircraft in departure as appropriate. Performs safety checks at airport as required Performs other related duties as required. High school diploma with one year experience in Fixed Base Operations or flight line work required. Must have a SC Drivers License, light computer skills, as well as the ability to drive a tug. Physical requirements include : Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds and frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move heavy objects. Starting salary is $17.41 per hour or higher depending on experience.
