Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Non-emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver and be a vital link in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for individuals requiring medical assistance. In this role, you will operate passenger vehicles, including vans and passenger vans, to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations. Your dedication will ensure clients arrive on time and feel cared for throughout their journey. Duties Safely operate various passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttle buses, and client-specific transportation vans in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies Pick up and drop off clients at designated locations while ensuring their comfort and safety during transit Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and client information in accordance with state transportation regulations Communicate effectively with clients to confirm appointments, provide assistance as needed, and ensure a positive experience Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and reliability Adhere to all local driving routes, GPS navigation instructions, and safety protocols during daily operations Assist clients with boarding, disembarking, heavy lifting of mobility aids or personal belongings when necessary Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, shuttle driver, or chauffeur driving in passenger or medical transportation settings Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle operated; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not required depending on vehicle size Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and ability to plan efficient local driving routes Familiarity with state transportation regulations governing passenger vehicles and medical transportation services Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting clients or managing luggage or mobility aids Strong customer service orientation with a focus on compassion and professionalism Ability to lift heavy items safely when needed; physical stamina for long shifts involving frequent stops Prior experience operating passenger vans or shuttle buses; medical transportation experience is a plus but not mandatory Commitment to adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety standards at all times Embark on a rewarding career where your driving expertise directly impacts the well-being of others.
