[M-S/part time] About ARIIVE Medical Transportation ARIIVE Medical Transportation is a growing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) company serving Oakland, Alameda, and surrounding East Bay communities. We provide safe, reliable, and patient-focused transportation to individuals traveling to medical appointments, treatments, healthcare facilities, and other healthcare-related destinations. We are seeking dependable, professional, and compassionate NEMT Drivers who take pride in providing safe and courteous transportation and treating every passenger with dignity and respect. Position Summary As an
ARIIVE NEMT
Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from healthcare appointments and facilities while providing professional, courteous, and patient-focused service. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, patient, and comfortable working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and passengers who may require additional assistance. Key Responsibilities Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities Provide courteous and respectful assistance to passengers Safely assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle Operate wheelchair ramps and lifts as required Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility devices Follow all passenger safety and transportation procedures Conduct required pre-trip vehicle safety inspections Maintain a clean and safe vehicle environment Communicate professionally with passengers, families, healthcare facilities, and ARIIVE dispatch Follow scheduled pickup and drop-off times Report accidents, incidents, vehicle issues, and other concerns promptly Maintain passenger confidentiality and follow HIPAA/privacy requirements Follow ARIIVE policies, procedures, and safety standards Minimum Qualifications Must be 22 years of age or older Valid California driver's license Acceptable driving record Ability to successfully pass an MVR/driving-record check Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen Current CPR certification Current First Aid certification Reliable transportation to and from work Strong communication and customer-service skills Ability to work professionally with patients, healthcare facilities, and members of the public Employment is subject to applicable DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN), driving-record, background, and pre-employment screening requirements. Required Training/Competency ARIIVE provides required training and competency instruction, including: Wheelchair securement and passenger safety Wheelchair lift and ramp operation Passenger assistance and transfer safety Defensive driving Emergency procedures and evacuation Infection control HIPAA and patient privacy Patient/customer service and professional conduct Pre-trip vehicle safety inspections Accident and incident reporting The ARIIVE Difference At ARIIVE, transportation is more than getting from one location to another. Preferred Qualifications The following experience is a plus: Previous NEMT or medical transportation experience Experience transporting seniors or individuals with disabilities Experience operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles Healthcare, caregiving, patient-care, or customer-service experience Familiarity with the Oakland/East Bay area Experience using GPS/navigation and mobile applications Why Join ARIIVE?
