Driver for pets (Daytime Hours Needed) Rainbow Bridge Pet Cremation San Jose, CA Job Details Contract $120 a day 18 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Pet care Maintenance Load securement Driver's License Driving Full Job Description Job Overview (Daytime Hours Needed) Drivers respond to on-call requests to pick up pets from private residences and veterinary clinics and transport them safely and respectfully to our care partners. Calls may occur at any time, so flexibility and reliability are essential. Duties Safely operate vehicle to transport pets who have passed away. Assist with loading and unloading pets, ensuring proper handling and safety during transit. Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation and hygiene standards. Communicate effectively with pet owner and Rainbow Bridge Staff. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure secure transportation at all times. Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as securing pet carriers or crates within the vehicle. Keep detailed logs of trips, routes taken, and any incidents or concerns during transit. Skills Must have your own reliable vehicle Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to be available on an on-call basis, including evenings, nights, and weekends Comfort interacting compassionately with grieving pet owners and veterinary staff Ability to lift and transport pets of varying sizes Prior experience in pet care, veterinary clinics, animal services, or transport is preferred but not required Responsibilities Respond to pickup requests from families and veterinary clinics throughout the Bay Area Travel to homes or clinics to receive pets with professionalism and compassion Carefully transport pets to designated facilities Maintain clear communication with the Rainbow Bridge team regarding pickups and deliveries Treat every pet with dignity and care Ideal Candidate Calm, empathetic, and respectful Reliable and responsive when on call Comfortable working independently Passionate about helping families honor their pets with dignity Service Area San Francisco and the extended Bay Area, including Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and surrounding counties.
