NEMT DRIVER
(Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver)
•-- Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and professional Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to provide safe and timely transportation for patients requiring medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other non-emergency medical needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical transportation and a strong commitment to safety, comfort, and customer service. This role involves transporting clients in a courteous manner while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
•-- Duties Safely operate vehicles to transport patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring punctuality and comfort. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle as needed, providing respectful and compassionate service. Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of the vehicle to ensure safety and reliability. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation. Complete necessary documentation related to trips, mileage, and passenger details accurately and promptly. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle before each shift to ensure it is in proper working condition. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and clients to coordinate transportation schedules. Adhere to all safety training requirements including CPR certification, defensive driving courses, PASS course completion, and DOT regulations.
•-- Requirements Proven experience in medical transportation or a similar role is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Completion of defensive driving courses. Successful completion of PASS course (Passenger Assistance Safety & Service). Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations for commercial drivers. Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach toward passengers. Ability to operate vehicles safely under various conditions. Strong organizational skills for managing schedules and documentation.
