Job Description

Overview Full-time & PRN positions available. Variable shifts Make sure to answer ALL the questions at the end of the application. The Critical Care Ground Emergency Medical Technician-Operator (CCGEMT) is responsible for assisting with or independently providing direct patient care to those individuals assigned to them by the Paramedic or Registered Nurse or when attending BLS patients while staffing a BLS ambulance. Those services shall be provided in a manner that displays compassion, caring and respect. The CCGEMT is responsible for safe ground ambulance operation for interfacility patients, transport crew members, specialty teams and other transport missions as assigned. Other duties may include assisting the ShandsCair dispatch center when needed as well as staffing of non-emergent transport vehicles as assigned. The CCGEMT must be effective with communication, skills, and able to work positively in a high stress environment with patients, peers, families and other internal/external personnel. The CCGEMT must also possess excellent interpersonal skills to assist in providing community outreach and education. The CCGEMT is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of UF Health /ShandsCair assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. Qualifications Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent required Licensure/Certifications Current certification as EMT-B (or higher) in the State of Florida required. Basic Life Support Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License Certification of completion of a Florida approved Emergency Vehicle Operations driving course (NAPD or EVOC). Experience Two years of EMS driving experience preferred. Additional info Must be at least 18 years of age with 2 years of civilian driving experience. Candidate must be insurable by the UF Health insurance carrier. Functional understanding of communications equipment including telephone, radios and recording equipment desired.

Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'frequent driver'. Knowledge of navigational terms is desired.
Qualifications:
