54,000 Annually. Empire Distributors Inc, A Leading Beverage Distributor is now hiring a Route Driver . Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates and plans delivery routes and delivers products to service our customers. Drives truck to deliver such items as beer, wine, liquor, and point of sale items to customer's place of business. Collects returnable items and empty containers from businesses and transports containers back to the distribution center for consolidation and shipment back to suppliers. Inspects loads and ensures proper packing and security is in place in order to reduce product breakage and vehicle damage. Conducts an inventory of truck contents. Retrieves overages and accounts for shortages. Reviews content of the truck to ensure vehicle is loaded correctly. Checks the distribution of the weight and product on the vehicle to ensure it is safe and stable. Collects and coordinates payments from customers and records transactions on customer receipt. Records delivery information using provided delivery record. Listens to and resolves service complaints. Resolves issues when possible. Coordinates customer comments and service issues with transportation management for proper resolution. Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Provides preventative maintenance and safety checks on their vehicle by conducting DOT regulated pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Proficient in the use of telematics devices; to include, but not limited to delivery routes and driver logs. Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Management. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
