You are often the first and last person a patient sees on their trip, so you represent Elite Ambulance's standard of "Elite Care" on every ride. Safely transport patients to and from hospitals, dialysis centers, clinics, nursing facilities, and private residences Operate wheelchair-accessible vans using vehicle lifts and ramps Secure wheelchairs and passengers properly before every trip Greet patients, assist with door entry and exit, and help them in and out of the vehicle Assist with mobility devices such as wheelchairs and walkers Perform routine vehicle safety checks and keep the vehicle and equipment clean Communicate with dispatch and follow the assigned daily schedule Maintain accurate trip records and follow company protocols Treat every patient with empathy, professionalism, and patience Requirements Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record Must pass a drug and alcohol screening and a criminal background check Physically able to push, pull, and maneuver an occupied wheelchair (combined weight of 150+ lbs) and operate lifts and ramps Working knowledge of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage time on a route Reliable and punctual for your assigned shift Preferred (Not Required) Experience as an NEMT driver, Medicar driver, wheelchair van driver, paratransit driver, or similar CPR / First Aid certification Experience working with seniors or patients with limited mobility Why Drive for Elite Ambulance Elite Ambulance has emerged as a leading ambulance and medical transportation service in the Chicago area.
