We are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and professional NEMT Driver to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, understands the importance of reliability, and can provide respectful service to passengers who may be elderly, disabled, veterans, or have other mobility or transportation needs. Job Responsibilities The NEMT Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from scheduled destinations while providing courteous, dependable, and professional service.
Responsibilities include:
Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments, healthcare facilities, residences, and other approved destinations. Arrive for scheduled pickups on time and maintain communication regarding delays or changes. Assist passengers with safely entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate. Provide reasonable assistance to passengers with mobility limitations while remaining within company policy and training. Ensure passengers are safely seated and using seat belts or other required safety equipment before the vehicle is moved. Treat every passenger with dignity, patience, respect, and professionalism. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with passengers. Follow assigned transportation schedules, routes, and dispatch instructions. Communicate promptly with management regarding delays, cancellations, passenger concerns, accidents, vehicle problems, or other incidents. Maintain accurate trip documentation, mileage records, passenger information, and other required transportation records. Protect passenger confidentiality and confidential company information. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the assigned vehicle. Monitor fuel levels and promptly report maintenance, mechanical, or safety concerns. Follow all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation procedures. Immediately report accidents, injuries, incidents, citations, or vehicle damage. Complete all required company training and maintain required certifications. Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Applicants must:
Be at least 21 years of age. Possess a valid driver's license. Have a safe and acceptable driving record. Be able to successfully complete a motor vehicle record check. Be able to successfully complete required background screening. Be able to successfully complete any required drug and/or alcohol screening. Have reliable attendance and the ability to report to work and scheduled pickups on time. Have a working mobile phone and be able to communicate with dispatch/management while working. Be able to safely operate the type of vehicle assigned by Serenity Transportation LLC. Be able to read and follow GPS directions, schedules, written instructions, and transportation documentation. Be able to communicate professionally with passengers, caregivers, healthcare providers, dispatchers, and company management. Demonstrate patience, compassion, good judgment, and professionalism when assisting passengers. Be able to maintain passenger confidentiality. Be willing to complete all required orientation and training before transporting passengers independently. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Safely enter and exit a vehicle repeatedly throughout the workday. Sit and drive for extended periods. Bend, reach, stand, and walk as necessary to assist passengers and inspect the vehicle. Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle within the employee's training and company policies. Safely handle mobility equipment when required and properly trained. Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications The following are preferred but are not necessarily required at the time of application: Previous NEMT, healthcare transportation, professional driving, caregiving, direct-care, or customer-service experience. Experience working with elderly individuals, veterans, individuals with disabilities, or individuals with mobility limitations. CPR/First Aid certification. Defensive driving and passenger-assistance training. Knowledge of Wichita and surrounding communities. Employment Requirements Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of applicable background screening, driving-record review, drug screening, training, and any other requirements established by Serenity Transportation LLC, its insurance carrier, or applicable transportation contracts.
