The Reality of the Role We believe in being transparent: this is not a behind-the-desk administrative role or a traditional clinic-bound healthcare position. Operating our 35' Mobile Treatment Unit (MTU) is dynamic, highly rewarding, and essential to reaching individuals where they are. It requires someone who is adaptable, dependable, and deeply committed to providing low-barrier, compassionate care to patients navigating complex behavioral health and social needs. Recovery isn't always linear, and access to care shouldn't be complicated. On any given day, you are the face of MATClinics in the community—whether you are setting up the mobile unit, welcoming someone taking their first step toward treatment, or coordinating critical community resources. Building trust, maintaining a welcoming environment, and balancing hands-on mobile operations with clinical support is at the heart of this role.
You will:
Drive, operate, and maintain MATClinics' 35' Mobile Treatment Unit (MTU), transporting it daily between storage in Rosedale, MD, designated community sites in Baltimore County, and our Dundalk location. Execute complete daily MTU site operations, including vehicle leveling, slide-out expansion, generator/power connections, HVAC management, system shut-downs, and daily interior sanitization. Serve as the primary on-site greeter outside the MTU, building trust, de-escalating stressful situations, and creating a low-stigma, welcoming environment for prospective and returning patients. Deliver trauma-informed peer support and case management services, including intake triage, recovery-focused conversations, naloxone distribution, and direct linkages to housing, food, vital documents, and MATClinics programs. Set up and maintain telehealth and office technology inside the MTU. Manage patient flow and intake administrative tasks, including verifying insurance/EVS, registering new patients, updating encounter forms, managing virtual waiting rooms, and scheduling follow-up care. Administer point-of-care urine drug screens (UDS), record results in EHR (RxNT) charting software, label specimens, maintain transport logs, and safely transport samples at the end of each shift. Coordinate routine waste pump-outs with vendors and proactively flag vehicle maintenance needs to keep operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, community-facing environment, takes pride in operational excellence, and believes deeply in harm reduction and whole-person care. If you prefer a static office setting with routine daily tasks, this position may not be the right fit. But if you want to be on the frontlines of expanding addiction treatment access across Baltimore County, you'll likely thrive at MATClinics. What You Bring (Qualifications) Valid driver's license and full confidence operating a 35' vehicle (Mobile Treatment Unit / RV). Lived recovery experience, Peer Recovery Specialist certification, or a strong background in peer support, community outreach, behavioral health, or mobile medical operations. Proficiency in trauma-informed care and proven de-escalation skills when working with diverse populations in high-touch community settings. Strong tech-savviness, with experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR), Google Meet, web applications, and basic office hardware (scanners/printers). Comfort performing administrative and clinical support tasks, including point-of-care lab collection, patient registration, and insurance verification. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to set healthy boundaries while delivering empathetic, patient-centered support. Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multi-step daily operational workflows independently. Ability to regularly travel across designated locations, including flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays as required. MATClinics is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We welcome all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. Ready to Make a Difference? Apply today to join our team at MATClinics and contribute to our mission of providing integrated, high-quality addiction recovery and co-occurring behavioral health services.
