Job Summary Join our team as a Full-Time Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver and play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for patients requiring non-emergency medical services. This position is located in Massena, NY, therefore candidate must live within approximately 10 miles of Massena. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans to transport clients on local routes according to scheduled appointments. Ensure compliance with all state transportation regulations and traffic laws during every trip. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey whether they are being transported by wheelchair or stretcher. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain optimal vehicle safety. Use GPS navigation systems efficiently to follow designated routes and adapt to traffic conditions for timely arrivals. Communicate clearly with clients regarding pickup times, destinations, and any special requirements or accommodations needed. Requirements A valid driver's license appropriate for operating passenger vehicles; specifically a commercial driver's license (CDL-C with passenger endorsement) is mandatory and can be obtained during the training process. Background check and DOT physical required. Experience Familiarity with passenger van operation and medical transportation services is a strong plus. Demonstrated ability to handle manual lifting safely when assisting passengers or mobility aids. Strong knowledge of local driving routes and adherence to state transportation regulations is essential. Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients professionally and courteously. Experience with GPS navigation tools and vehicle maintenance routines will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
