Job DescriptionAHRC New York City is seeking Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who have a valid Driver's License and are comfortable driving a small van, for their Adult Day Program in Staten Island.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm (35 hours per week). Upon completion and passing of
AHRC NYC
Defensive Driving class if driving is needed, hours may vary.

Pay rate: $18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet. See additional Benefit information below.

In addition, the following Bonuses are available depending on Programs needs.$2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class$2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP trainingWhy become an

Paid TrainingHands on work experience 
Responsibilities:
Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.

The oversight of all safety and health considerationsPromoting skill development, interests, and hobbiesAssisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)QualificationsValid NY or Tri-State Driver's license, in good standing, requiredExperience driving a small van a plus.

Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Understanding of Person Centered Planning.

Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.

Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.

Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.

High School diploma or GED is preferred.
