Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver, where you will play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for individuals requiring medical assistance outside of emergency situations. Your energetic and customer-focused approach will ensure passengers arrive comfortably and on time, supporting their health and well-being. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while utilizing your driving expertise and excellent communication skills. Duties Safely operate sedans, vans, or specialized vehicles to transport patients and clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other non-emergency destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met; report any issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and passenger details in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns or special needs. Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to guarantee a secure environment for all onboard. Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist with mobility devices or luggage, demonstrating physical readiness for the role. Qualifications Proven experience in driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or as a limousine or driver is highly desirable. Valid driver's license appropriate for commercial or heavy vehicle operation; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not mandatory. BCI (Background) check Driving abstract or Motor Vehicle Record Strong communication skills to interact professionally with passengers, healthcare staff, and team members. Knowledge of paratransit services, heavy lifting techniques, and vehicle maintenance fundamentals. Prior experience in school bus driving or similar roles that require safety-conscious driving practices is a plus. Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks confidently. Ambulette (Wheel Chair) Drivers - provide PASS certrification All drivers must provide approved physical examinations (current) Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude that reassures passengers during transit. $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
