Pay Range:
Typically ranges from $15 per hour to start for traditional staff positions. Key Responsibilities Safely transport non-ambulatory and mobility-assisted patients to medical appointments, dialysis, or hospital discharges. Load, secure, and unload passengers using wheelchairs, stretchers, or safety equipment when required. Maintain clean, inspection-ready vehicles and complete accurate daily transport logs. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical facility staff, and patients.
Requirements Driver's License:
Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record (minimal points or violations).
Age:
Must be at least 25 years old for many insurance and platform requirements (such as Wingz or Express Mobile Transport).
Vehicle:
Access to a reliable, clean 4-door vehicle, SUV, or minivan (2010 or newer recommended).
Screening:
Ability to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and routine drug screening.
Physical Ability:
Capability to assist passengers and lift or secure mobility aids as needed. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize transport times and fuel consumption. Load and unload patients with using trained safety techniques, ensuring patients are secured properly for transport. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are in optimal condition for driving. Manage logistics cargo handling, including loading, securing, and unloading patients safely and adhering to company protocols. Maintain detailed records of transports, driver logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation in accordance with the company and ODM regulations. Requirements Experience in NEMT driving, including patient driving with route driving expertise. Valid driver's license. Demonstrated ability to operate NEMT vehicles safely and efficiently. Knowledge of loading and unloading patient procedures. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools for efficient driving routes. Strong understanding of regulations, NEMT standards, regulations, and safety protocols related to NEMT driving. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unloading patient operations. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience preferred.
