Ensure damage reports include photos when required by JDW procedures. Distinguish previously documented damage from potentially new damage. Escalate significant, safety-related, or previously unreported damage immediately to Operations/Fleet Management. Update the status of vehicle damage as information becomes available. Communicate vehicles requiring inspection, repair, or additional management review. Help ensure Operations has an accurate understanding of vehicle condition before the following day's routes.
The goal is simple:
every vehicle should have an accurate damage status before the evening operation closes. Fleet Accountability Identify vehicles that may require maintenance attention before their next scheduled use. Communicate mechanical concerns reported by drivers. Help maintain awareness of which vehicles are available, damaged, under repair, grounded, or otherwise unavailable. Escalate issues that could affect the following day's vehicle availability. Work with Operations and Fleet Management to ensure vehicle information remains current. Help ensure drivers follow safe speeds and maneuvering practices. Keep designated parking and operational areas orderly. Immediately escalate unsafe conditions, accidents, property damage, or other significant concerns. End-of-Night Closeout Before completing each shift, the Parking Manager should ensure: Vehicles are properly parked and secured. Keys and required equipment are accounted for. New vehicle damages have been documented. Vehicle damage records have been updated. Maintenance concerns have been communicated. Grounded or potentially unsafe vehicles have been escalated. Outstanding fleet issues have been communicated to Operations/Fleet Management. The parking area is organized and prepared for the next operational day. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Dependable and punctual. Highly organized. Detail-oriented. Comfortable giving clear directions. Able to hold employees accountable professionally. Safety-conscious. Comfortable working around vehicles. Able to accurately document information. Capable of identifying and communicating vehicle concerns. Comfortable using mobile applications, spreadsheets, or digital tracking systems. Able to communicate effectively with drivers and management. Capable of working independently without constant supervision. Calm and professional in a fast-moving environment. Preferred Qualifications Valid driver's license. Clean and safe driving habits. Previous logistics, fleet, transportation, parking, warehouse, automotive, or operations experience is helpful but not required. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. Experience documenting vehicle condition or damage is a plus. Physical & Work Environment This position requires working primarily in and around an active vehicle parking area. The Parking Manager should be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. JDW Culture JDW Logistics operates around four core expectations: Accountability — Take ownership and communicate issues early. Safety — Protect our people, vehicles, and community. Respect — Treat drivers, coworkers, equipment, and property professionally. Operational Excellence — Leave the fleet and parking operation prepared for the next day's success. The Parking Manager is one of the final operational checkpoints of the day. Their responsibility is not simply to park vans—it is to help ensure JDW knows where every vehicle is, what condition it is in, and whether it is ready for tomorrow.
