Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Cargo Van Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and packages to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. Your role is vital in supporting efficient warehouse operations and providing a seamless delivery experience for our clients. Duties Safely operate a box truck or cargo van to deliver goods across designated routes, adhering to all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Verify delivery addresses and ensure accurate documentation of shipments using mobile devices or delivery logs. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery times, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly. Follow proper weight handling procedures when managing heavy loads or moving items within warehouses or delivery sites. Maintain safety standards during manual handling, heavy lifting, and route driving to prevent accidents or injuries. Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or warehouse worker with familiarity in warehouse operations and material handling equipment operation. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving commercial trucks or box trucks is highly preferred. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safety procedures related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently using mobile devices or route planning tools. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries. Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift heavy items, and perform moving tasks throughout the workday. Prior experience working with warehouse inventory systems, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is advantageous.
