This position is responsible for:
Under the general supervision of the Corps Officer, the Seasonal Support Worker provides social service assistance to clients seeking Angel Tree assistance by scheduling appointments, interviewing clients, determining eligibility, and performing accurate and complete computer data entry. The position may also staff Angel Tree stations at area locations during peak hours, assist with sorting and moving donations and other materials into the warehouse, assist with warehouse setup and breakdown, and drive Salvation Army vehicles as needed to pick up and/or drop off kettle workers.
Key Responsibilities:
Answers telephones, schedules appointments, greets and interviews clients, determines eligibility for Angel Tree assistance based on program guidelines, and maintains confidentiality of client information. Accurately enters client intake information into the Angel Tree database and receives and checks in clients during Angel Tree distribution week; assists clients with receiving and transporting Angel Tree items. Safely operates Salvation Army vehicles, as needed, to pick up or deliver donations, goods, employees, volunteers, and kettle workers in accordance with driver eligibility requirements. Assists with loading, unloading, sorting, moving, and placing donated items; helps maintain an orderly warehouse and assists with warehouse setup and breakdown. Assists with canned food, coat, and toy drives and other seasonal operations while interacting courteously and professionally with the public and Salvation Army donors.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements and to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to lift and carry and/or push and pull light materials, supplies, or equipment weighing less than 25 lbs., including boxes of materials and donations. Light mobility duties are performed through a combination of standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to load, unload, secure, and protect goods and to set up and break down materials at events.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
: High school diploma or G.E.D.; AND Two years of experience in receiving, storing, loading, and unloading materials; OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license and the ability to pass The Salvation Army's driver eligibility requirements needed to drive Salvation Army vehicles.
