Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers from the Veteran's Home in King to various destinations while providing excellent customer service. This role requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism on the road. Responsibilities Safely operate various types of vehicles, including standard and wheelchair vans ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Provide transportation services for passengers, including seniors and individuals requiring paratransit services. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey. Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the vehicle by performing routine inspections and basic maintenance. Engage with passengers in a friendly manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have during their ride. Handle heavy lifting as required when assisting passengers with luggage or mobility devices. Keep accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that occur during transport. Experience Proven experience in driving roles such as school bus driving, commercial driving, shuttle driving, or paratransit services is preferred. Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for all passengers. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary. Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a background check. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required (No DUIs or major traffic violations). No previous felony charges. Previous experience as a van driver or in similar transport roles will be considered an advantage.
