As a Coach Driver, you will operate motor coaches, school buses, or paratransit vehicles, navigating city streets and handling passenger needs with professionalism and care. Responsibilities Safely operate motor coaches, school buses, or paratransit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure mechanical integrity and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate city streets efficiently while adhering to designated routes, schedules, and traffic laws. Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including providing special needs assistance when required. Communicate effectively with dispatch using two-way radios for driver communication, updates, and safety alerts. Maintain a clean vehicle interior and report any maintenance issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and comfort. Follow all safety protocols related to passenger safety, vehicle operation, and adverse weather conditions to ensure a secure journey for everyone onboard. Experience Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or delivery driving with a valid driver's license suitable for operating large vehicles such as motor coaches or school buses. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including air brakes and basic maintenance procedures. Familiarity with transportation safety regulations at the federal (DOT) and state levels. Strong understanding of traffic laws, city street navigation, and defensive driving techniques. Excellent communication skills in English for clear interaction with passengers and team members. Experience working with passengers requiring special needs assistance or in paratransit services is preferred. Ability to drive confidently in adverse weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
