Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks and personal vehicles for local deliveries and moves, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload items using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Drive route schedules efficiently, ensuring timely delivery or pickup while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Assist with warehouse operations by organizing inventory, preparing shipments, and managing material handling equipment. Communicate professionally with customers during delivery or moving appointments, addressing any questions or concerns with a positive attitude. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety compliance and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements using mobile devices or other tracking tools. Qualifications Prior warehouse experience or background in moving services is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or courier services is highly desirable. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles such as box trucks confidently. Experience with delivery driver roles involving load & unload tasks, route driving, and adhering to traffic regulations. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; familiarity with heavy lifting techniques is a plus. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving practices. Comfort using mobile devices for route navigation, documentation, and communication during shifts.
