Donation Pickup and Receiving Humane Society of Pagosa Springs Pay:

In person Join our mission-driven team dedicated to providing a safe haven for animals in need, promoting adoptions, humanely reducing pet overpopulation, supporting lifelong pet ownership, and educating the community. The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs Thrift Store provides critical financial support for shelter operations and directly helps care for homeless animals in our community. Be part of a hardworking, compassionate team while interacting with community members who choose to donate and shop in support of the animals. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Donation Pickup and Receiving team member to help operate our uptown donation drop-off center, assist with donation pickups, drive the donation box truck, and support operations at both our uptown and downtown thrift store locations. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position requiring frequent movement throughout the day, repeated lifting of heavy items and furniture, and excellent customer service skills. Dependability, reliability, and professionalism are essential. Key Responsibilities- Greet and assist donors and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide above-average customer service and donor appreciation.
- Accept, organize, and process incoming donations efficiently and accurately.
- Help operate the uptown donation drop-off center.
- Schedule and assist with large-item and furniture pickups from donor homes.
- Drive the HSPS donation box truck for pickups and donation transport.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, sorting, and moving donations.
- Safely lift, move, and transport heavy boxes and furniture using proper equipment and safe lifting techniques.
- Work shifts at both the uptown donation center and downtown thrift store location as needed.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Serve as a proud HSPS ambassador in the community.
- Follow all company policies and procedures. Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
- Excellent attendance, dependability, and reliability.
- Ability to repeatedly and safely lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to move heavy furniture safely with equipment and team assistance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
- Previous experience as a mover, furniture delivery associate, warehouse associate, or in a similar physically demanding position is helpful.
- Clean driving record for the past five years.
- Must be insurable to drive company vehicles.
- Valid driver's license required.
