Job Description
We're looking for a Move Services Specialist to join our team of experts who help older adults and their families through one of life's biggest transitions—downsizing. If you are hands-on detail oriented and kindhearted, you may be just the person we need as we help our clients manage their move with dignity and calm. Specifically, Move Services Specialists pack and unpack clients' most treasured possessions with care, and help organize their new spaces--all while showing them kindness and respect. This is packing and unpacking with skill and thoughtfulness, not just moving boxes. The Details Hours Part-time as needed Work Style In-Person Reports To Team Lead Pay $20-22/hour About Silver Pathways We help older adults and their families navigate downsizing and relocation. This transition is often one of the hardest things they'll ever do. We make it manageable, dignified, and less overwhelming. You'll be tasked with carefully handling their most treasured possessions while reassuring them during this major life change. What You'll Do Packing & Protection Pack household items carefully (wrapping fragile items, selecting correct box sizes, protecting surfaces) Label boxes clearly so items can be found and unpacked efficiently Make good decisions about item handling based on condition and Team Lead instructions Use proper lifting techniques (never exceed 40 lbs) Leave each job site tidy at day's end Unpacking & Organization Unpack boxes following client instructions Organize items in closets, cabinets, and drawers in logical, easy-to-access ways Manage packing waste and recycling Leave spaces clean, organized, and ready to use Client Interaction Greet clients warmly Stop working to focus on the client's questions when they have them Handle possessions with attentive care Be patient and empathetic—moving is stressful, especially for older adults Communicate with your Team Lead and follow instructions Problem-Solving & Teamwork Figure out solutions in the field (access issues, fragile items, packing challenges) Work effectively with team members Know when to escalate issues to your Team Lead Who We're Looking For Required Able to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and work on your feet for 3-4 hours at a time Experience in moving or similar hands-on work (or proven ability to learn quickly) Genuinely considerate when interacting with older adults Anticipate and solve problems without needing every step explained Reliable, punctual, and professional Committed to keeping client information confidential Valid driver's license and transportation to Hendersonville-area job sites Nice to Have Professional moving or organizing experience or training Background in senior care The Right Fit You care about doing things right and are always looking to improve You think ahead—you can picture how something will fit, what might break, and what makes sense logistically You're comfortable having respectful conversations and you listen more than you talk You want meaningful work that supports older adults during a major life transition How to Apply Complete this form -> .
