Job Description:
The Pilot Ground Instructor reports to the Director of Training and is responsible for providing ground instruction and evaluations to initial, upgrading, transitioning and recurrent and select trainees. Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Provide ground instruction and evaluations Provide ground school instruction in aircraft specific and general pilot operational subjects. Assist with courseware development and other collateral duties associated with pilot flight training Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported, and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary, including internal, confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Actions Report (SAR) Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality, as scheduled. Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice Must be an appropriate organizational fit, consistently exhibiting organizational values of safety caring, integrity, passion, and fun Must fulfill accountabilities in accordance with Slate's internal safety policies Responsible for promoting organizational value of safety as a designed safety ambassador, utilizing established safety components, safety policy and behavioral standards Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and company policies, procedures, and risk controls Uphold organizational safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to duties and responsibilities Must be well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance. Education Bachelor's Degree Experience:
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with CL-65 type rating. Check Airman or Simulator Instructor experience in turbojet aircraft 1500 hours total flight time in aircraft (including turbine helicopter but excluding simulator and Flight Engineer) 500 hours in fixed wing airplanes One (1) year as an instructor or check airman in a certificate holder's approved program or one (1) year as a Pilot in Command or Second in Command in a turbojet aircraft Skills/Competencies Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and the ability to use browsers effectively, including IOS Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong presentation skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively Able to read and comprehend guidance as found in required manuals Able to work varying schedules including reserve duty, weekends, evenings, holidays, and last-minute drafting. Must be flexible and ready for changes in schedules and plans Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test Must be legally eligible to work in the
