Job Description

Job Summary

Coastal Helicopters, LLC is seeking applicants with powerline and firefighting experience in the AS350 series helicopters for full-time employment. Applicants must have prior powerline experience, to include human external cargo (HEC), utility pole setting, and line stringing.

The selected applicant will staff an AS350 B3e helicopter on a 12/12 schedule for powerline and federal & state CWN fire contracts. Applicants who also possess experience in Bell medium aircraft are preferred, however there will be an opportunity to transition into the Bell 205 airframe, for the right applicant, who does not currently have any Bell medium experience.

Applicants will not be required to relocate to Southern California, however, relocation is preferred.

Salary and flight pay vary based on applicant qualifications and experience.

Requirements

All applicants must meet or exceed the following minimum qualifications:

Commercial Pilot Certificate — rotorcraft, helicopter

At least a 2nd Class medical certificate

2,500 hours PIC in helicopters

300 hours in AS350 series aircraft

200 hours high DA (>5,000') mountainous terrain experience

2 years or 300 hours powerline experience

Recent experience with HEC (within the preceding 6 months)

Recent experience setting utility poles (within the preceding 6 months)

Part 135 minimums

Capable of lifting and moving at least 50 lbs

Willing and able to travel and be away from base for extended periods

In addition to the minimum requirements listed above, the preferred applicant will also have:

Recent experience pulling wire (within the preceding 12 months)

Experience with ≥200' load combinations.

Prior Part 135 experience

Been previously carded (USDA/OAS) for firefighting in the AS350 series aircraft

Bell 205 experience

Willingness to relocate
