HELICOPTER PILOT
(TITLE 32), GS-2181-11/12, you will pilot Utility Helicopters (UH-60V) in support of the missions and functions of the geographical area. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Conduct reconnaissance and observion flights. Provide transportion of cargo and transporting passengers, among a variety of familiar destinions Routinely opere with short takeoffs and landing capability, in all types of weher, day, and night over a variety of terrains and open bodies of wer. Serve as a member of a board pertaining to aviion accidents, flight evaluion, colleral investigions, standardizion, and federal recognition. Conduct test flights and checks all systems in connection with maintenance actions and take necessary action to correct malfunctions Conduct flight checks following repairs, maintenance, or installion of approved aircraft system modificions. Perform maintenance operion checks (MOCs) and general test flights of aircraft to ensure airworthiness upon completion of extensive disassembly for maintenance, repair or replacement of components or aircraft systems. Perform general test flights of aircraft upon completion of extensive disassembly, reassembly, and maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts where tests cannot determine the safe and or proper functioning of aircraft components or systems. Participe in all-weher search and rescue operions utilizing a thorough knowledge of the terrain feures of the geographical area. Provide training and evaluing pilots the lower level. Opere from various types of landing strips which may be isole or restricted in size. Versed in advanced flight techniques such as flying outside of the recommended weight/velocity profile, close formion flying, opering night in all weher conditions. Irregular and/or overtime (compensory) hours may be required to support operional requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. May be subject to uncommon tours of duty, rotional shift assignments and compension and/or overtime duty. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. This is a Testing Designed Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Must possess and continue to maintain a US Army Class II Flight Physical. Must have Federal Aviion Administrion certificions awarded from accredited civilian aviion programs or must have aviion certificions from accredited military aviion schools. MUST possess Federal Aviion Administrion certificions awarded from accredited civilian aviion programs or have aviion certificions from accredited military aviion schools.
MUST SUBMIT CERTIFICATION. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: GS-12 Level - MUST possess least one-year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediely below the next higher level. Must have least two years specialized competencies in opering UH-60V, mission planning, and mission preparion. Experience in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weher informion. Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experience in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operions or surveillance and reconnaissance. Competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experience in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and advising commanders. Knowledge in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and opering procedures. Experience in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Nional Guard Bureau, and/or Occupional Safety and Health Administrion policies, regulions, and directives.
