Job Summary:
The Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) is responsible for conducting maintenance test flights, acceptance flights, and support missions on AH‑64E Apache aircraft and ensuring continued airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness . The MTP serves as Pilot in Command (PIC) and provides technical oversight in accordance with
TAMMS, OEM
technical publications, and company policies.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
Conduct maintenance test flights, functional check flights, and acceptance flights as PIC in accordance with customer and contract requirements . Ensure aircraft maintenance, inspections, and records comply with
TAMMS, FAA/EASA
(as applicable), OEM manuals, airworthiness directives, and company regulations . Plan and execute flight missions, including review of weather, airspace, aircraft configuration, crew capabilities, and operational requirements . Perform comprehensive pre‑flight and post‑flight inspections , ensuring aircraft configuration, weight and balance, fuel state, and mission equipment compliance. Perform prescribed test maneuvers , evaluate normal and emergency system operation, record results, and report discrepancies. Brief aircrew and passengers on mission scope, safety, and emergency procedures . Maintain accurate flight and test documentation and submit required reports. Support limited Technical Inspector functions , verifying maintenance and modification actions. Conduct and supervise training of aircrew and local national personnel in maintenance test flight procedures. Work flexible hours as required to meet operational and mission demands . Required Qualification Bachelor / Associate Degree/ Higher Diploma in Aviation Maintenance is required, along with FAA A&P License / 15R qualification.
AH-64D/E
Maintenance Test Pilot Course from US Military is highly preferred. Graduate of AMOC Phase I course and the concerned aircraft MTPC (AMOC Phase II) or equivalents. Must be able to attain and maintain a local military flight physical (class I), equivalent to the FAA (class II). Must be able to pass hands-on flight evaluation. Experience as Maintenance Examiner (ME) is preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 10 years aviation maintenance and piloting experience. First Pilot time (PIC): 1000 hours MTP on AH-64
E:
Minimum 200
Hours NVG Systems:
Minimum 50 Hours Must have strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, regulations, and/or equivalent Army maintenance practices including The Army Maintenance Management System for Aviation (TAMMS-A), Aeronautical Equipment Maintenance Management Procedures, and ATP Aviation Maintenance. Strong knowledge of Production and Quality Control is highly preferred At least 1 combat mission deployment exposure is highly desired.
