$195,000-$250,000/yr Updated 09/10/2026 Job Description Job Summary Encore Jet Management, LLC. a Part 135 air charter operator based at San Antonio International Airport (KSAT), has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented Chief Pilot who is safety conscious of their daily responsibilities. Currently operating company owned aircraft comprised of 3 Beechjets, 1 Citation VII and a Hawker 800XP. The company provides health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with 4% company match, competitive salary, per diem, reimbursement for FAA Medical, first-class travel when traveling on airlines (or SWA Group A when flight time is shorter than first-class travel), assigned shifts vs. rolling rest and Flight Safety International or CAE training The Chief Pilot reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for supervising all air crew personnel. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Authority to exercise operational control over flights conducted under 14 CFR Part 135. Maintains proper pilot staffing levels; recruitment processing including compliance with provisions of the Pilot Records Improvement Act and other regulations as applicable. Maintains all records as required by §135.63 as they relate to air crew and flight operations. Development and currency of the Encore Jet Management Air Crew Training Programs. Maintains all required Manuals, Supplements, Aircraft Check Lists, documents and navigation charts assigned to the Operations Office and those assigned to each aircraft. Maintains current Minimum Equipment Lists for each Encore Jet Management Air Carrier aircraft. Supervises distribution and posting of all information or memoranda relative to any changes affecting Company policy, route information, NAVAIDS, NOTAMS and other pertinent information to assure safe and secure flight operations. Assures pilots are current, appropriately qualified and properly rested prior to scheduling to a flight assignment. Responsible for training and checking requirements with Contract Training Centers as necessary, and with the assigned FAA POI. Assures that day-to-day flight operations activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. Coordination with coordination of all in-house training with Instructors and Check Airmen. Designates sufficient check pilots to insure all flight crew conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FAA regulations and Company policies, and to assure that all pilots receive checks as required by applicable FAA regulations and Encore Jet Management policy. Available for flight duties as PIC as part of the pilot schedule on a reduced basis. Requirements Must possess a valid U.S. Passport. No FAA violations, suspensions or criminal history. Must be able to pass a thorough background check to be issued a SIDA badge. Must hold ATP certificate and Class I FAA Medical. Must meet the minimum qualifications of 14 CFR 119.71.
