Job Description

Transportation Assistant shall transport persons with developmental disabilities to and from various adult day programs using our passenger van. Assistant will aid clients with entry and exit from vehicle. Will also be back-up to Transport Driver.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire. A valid California Class C driver's license. Approved to drive by Agency's insurance company. Must pass a pre-employment drug test, health screening/TB test. Have a criminal records clearance from the CA Department of Social Services. All drivers are enrolled in the DMV Pull Program. Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Will drive 8-10 passenger van. Willing to complete Defensive Driving course. 6+ months of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities (day program or residential setting)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform physical activity including walking, standing, prolonged sitting, reaching, carrying, lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Work involves a significant amount of locomotion while operating the agency vehicles on various types of road conditions including freeways and in-town. May be exposed to bodily fluids, viruses and/or infections. Work with individuals who may be aggressive towards themselves or others. Ability to perform hands-on-behavioral management strategies, as trained, may be needed daily.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm. Some holidays off.
