This is an hourly, as-needed position with NO guaranteed number of hours each week. Our schedule is based on client projects, so some weeks may be busy and others may have limited or no hours.
You must:
Have a reliable car and be willing to drive throughout San Diego County Have a valid driver's license and smartphone Be available on weekdays, typically between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Be comfortable with a variable schedule and changing work locations Be physically capable of spending the day on your feet, bending, carrying, packing and unpacking Be willing to stay until the day's project is completed when a job runs longer than anticipated What We Do Next Phase is a Senior Move Management company. We help older adults and their families through the often emotional process of downsizing and moving. We are NOT movers. Movers handle the heavy furniture. Our team handles the details that turn a move into a successfully set-up home.
A typical day may include:
Helping clients sort and downsize their belongings Packing household items carefully and efficiently (will train) Unpacking and completely setting up a new home or apartment Organizing kitchens, closets, bedrooms and other spaces Hanging artwork and arranging décor Preparing items for donation or other disposition Working alongside movers and other vendors Troubleshooting and solving problems as they arise One day you may be helping a client decide what will fit in their new senior community apartment. The next, you may be packing or unpacking a kitchen, making beds, organizing a closet and hanging artwork so a client's new home is ready when they arrive. Who Does Well in This Job We're looking for someone who is quick, capable, proactive and genuinely good with people. Our clients are often navigating major life transitions, and many of the homes and senior communities we work in require a high level of professionalism. You need to be friendly, well-spoken, present yourself professionally, and know how to interact respectfully with clients, families and vendors.
