Job Overview Lady's Childcare & Transportation is seeking a dependable, caring, and safety-focused On-Call Transportation Driver to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible, supplemental income while making a difference in the lives of children and families. The On-Call Driver provides transportation coverage when our regularly scheduled drivers are unavailable and may also assist during special events, field trips, and periods of increased enrollment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, values safety, and is dependable, professional, and available on short notice. Company vehicle provided during work hours. Schedule On-Call (As Needed) Monday-Friday Typical coverage hours may include:
Morning Routes:
Approximately 6:00 AM - 9:00
AM Afternoon Routes:
Approximately 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM Hours will vary based on staffing needs, employee absences, and business demands. No minimum hours guaranteed. Responsibilities Safely transport students to and from schools and approved destinations Provide coverage for scheduled drivers during absences, vacations, or emergencies Follow assigned transportation routes and schedules Ensure children are properly secured according to Georgia safety requirements Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and management Follow all company policies and transportation safety procedures Assist children entering and exiting the vehicle when needed Maintain accurate attendance and transportation records QualificationsRequired Valid Driver's License Clean driving record Ability to pass a background check Reliable transportation to and from work Dependable, punctual, and professional Comfortable working with children Ability to be available on short notice when possible Preferred Experience working with children Childcare, school, transportation, or customer service experience CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to safety and detail Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment Dependability and time management Ability to work independently Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules Physical Requirements Ability to enter and exit the vehicle multiple times per shift Ability to assist children safely when necessary Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Benefits Company vehicle provided during work hours Flexible schedule Fuel card Paid training On-the-job training Family-oriented work environment Opportunity to transition into a permanent scheduled route as the company grows
