Position Overview:
As a DCFS Driver at Destiny Transportation, you will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for children and families involved in the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) program. Your role is integral to support families by ensuring clients reach their destinations safely and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Services Safely transport children, parents, and other family members to and from scheduled appointments, visitations, court hearings, or other designated locations. Follow predetermined routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures. 1.Safety & Compliance Ensure all passengers are secured using appropriate safety regulations and follow all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Report any maintenance issues or incidents immediately to the supervisor. 2.Professionalism Maintain a calm, patient, and professional demeanor while working with children and families in potentially stressful or emotional situations. Protect client confidentiality and adhere to DCFS policies and procedures. 3.Record Keeping Accurately document transportation activities, including pick-up and drop-off times, mileage logs, and any incidents that occur during transit. Submit daily reports and ensure all records are complete and up to date. 4.Communication Maintain clear and open communication with the scheduling team, caseworkers, and other stakeholders regarding trip details or any challenges. Inform the appropriate parties of schedule delays or changes promptly 5.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable personal vehicle with current registration and insurance. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by DCFS. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with children and families is preferred but not required. 6.
Work Environment:
Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with varied schedules, including evenings or weekends if needed. 7.
Compensation:
Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use. The Driver needs the ability to observe changes or problems in the household and provide accurate and timely written and verbal reports and require adherence to approved days and hours as assigned, as well as commitment to clients upon acceptance of assignment.
