Job Description

Job Title:
Student Transit Driver Position Overview As a contracted driver, you will use your own vehicle to transport 1-3 students (assigned by the school district) from home to school in the morning and back home in the afternoon. This position is similar to Uber, however you are operating your personal vehicle like a school bus. Pay Structure Starting from $35 per trip. Pay is given based on the number of trips, not per student. Paid weekly by direct deposit. Earn between $350 to $1,000 per week depending on your assigned route and number of trips. How It Works Routes are assigned based on your location. You can accept or decline routes that are farther away. You will work Monday through Friday, typically during school hours (morning 7-9 AM and afternoon 2-4 PM). No work on weekends, holidays, or school break days. Summer work may be available (e.g., summer school routes). You'll report your income using a 1099 form (independent contractor). Requirements Must be 21 years or older Have a valid Illinois driver's license for 3 or more years Own a 4-door vehicle (2010 or newer) Carry personal auto insurance Have a smartphone with mobile data for using the driver app Must have a Social Security Number Must be punctual, professional, and reliable School Bus Permit (SBP) - Required To drive for Mobile Solutions, you must obtain a School Bus Permit (SBP) . We assist with this process, which includes: An 8-hour ROE training course with a test Background check, physical exam, TB test, and drug screening at a location specified by Mobile Solutions. Safety inspection for your vehicle First Division written and driving test at the DMV (study guides provided) at a location specified by Mobile Solutions. A SBP Class-D will be provided to you upon your passing of the written and driving test.
Note:
This license does not allow you to operate a standard school bus. You will only transport students in your personal vehicle. No preparation fees! All Charges Covered by Mobile Solutions! The onboarding and certification process takes approximately 1-2 months . You must be willing to complete all required steps before beginning work. Applicable Question (s): Are you willing to undergo a background check, drug test, in accordance with local law and regulations? This is not a job that starts immediately. There is an onboarding process that takes 1-2 MONTHS. Are you willing to go through the whole process? Do you have a vehicle that is 2010 or newer?
