Open Door Organizing and owner, Holly Hutchenson, are known for being compassionate and kind and this leads all aspects of the business. Open Door Organizing is hiring a Professional Organizer who wants to work hands on in client homes. The ideal candidate pairs a gentle, non-judgmental heart with the physical stamina needed to sort, lift and clear spaces. Organizing is 80% psychology and 20% sorting. You will step into vulnerable, personal spaces and work with clients who are facing life transitions, grief or chronic disorganization. High interpersonal acumen is a must. This position is for someone who wants to grow into a Lead Organizer with Open Door Organizing. A Lead Organizer sees clients individually, manages their own schedule and appointment booking, believes in and continues the compassion led standard of care, seeks out self education and training in the organizing field and works with Holly as needed on larger moving projects. No previous professional organizing experience is needed. Training is provided for the right candidate. Work experience in social services, human resources or psychology are relevant. Personal experience managing busy calendars, family, or projects of any kind are relevant.

Open Door Organizing Key Responsibilities Client Support:

Partner closely with clients in their homes to reach their organizing goals and provide patient, encouraging guidance for the organizing project. Manage client time, overall project goals and maintain morale.

Space Transformation:

Lead the client in sorting, categorizing, purging and systematically arranging items in any area of their home (closets, kitchens, garages, offices, etc.)

Donation Logistics :

Responsibly pack, load and transport discarded items from the client's home to local donation centers or recycling facilities.

Emotional Navigation:

Actively listen to clients' stories, worries and goals, validate their emotions during the session and help them navigate the letting-go process.

Confidentiality:

Maintain absolute discretion regarding our clients homes, personal items and lifestyles.

Interpersonal Requirements Naturally organized:

Naturally organized with high executive functioning. Able to break projects down into small ordered steps and energized by turning clutter and chaos into functional peaceful space.

Physical & Travel Requirements Physical Stamina :

Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for up to 4-6 hours at a time during organizing sessions.

Heavy Lifting:

Ability to safely and repeatedly life, carry and load boxes and bins weighting up to 50 lbs.

Travel Radius:

Must be able to travel to job sites throughout the Greater Boston area and up to a 20 mile radius outside of the city.

Vehicle and Logistics:

Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, valid auto-insurance and a reliable personal vehicle (SUV, van or large trunk space preferred) capable of hauling donation items to local centers. (Please note: gas expenses are not covered.) Schedule and Flexibility Part-time, project based Sessions scheduled weekdays 9:00AM-6:00PM plus 2 weekend days per month Session length: 2-4 hours per session (note: Majority of sessions are 3 hours long plus travel time on either end) Work based on client demand and organizer availability ranging from 9 hours per week (3, 3-hour sessions) to 30 hours a week (10, 3-hour sessions). Ideal candidate wants to work a minimum of 9 hours per week and willing to grow into more Organizer sets the hours they are willing to work

$26.00 - $45.00 per hour
