​ Wings to Recovery LLC $30.00 per hour | Flexible, As-Needed Assignments A Different Kind of Peer Support Wings to Recovery is seeking credentialed Peer Recovery Specialists, Peer Support Specialists, Recovery Coaches, and equivalent certified recovery professionals who want to use their experience in a unique and meaningful way. Our specialists provide one-on-one peer support to individuals while accompanying and transporting them to and from substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment. This is not a commercial driving position, delivery job, rideshare position, or CDL role. We are looking specifically for credentialed recovery professionals who understand the recovery community and can provide a safe, compassionate, nonjudgmental presence during what can be one of the most important transitions in a person's life. Driving is an essential part of the position—but peer support is what makes our service different. What You'll Do As a Wings to Recovery Peer Recovery Specialist, you may meet a client who is nervous about entering treatment, someone returning home after completing a program, or an individual simply having a difficult day. Your role is to get that person safely to their destination while providing the professionalism, understanding, encouragement, and appropriate peer support that comes from someone trained to work within the recovery community.

Responsibilities include:

Provide safe, compassionate transportation to and from treatment facilities and other approved destinations Build appropriate rapport with clients and provide peer support throughout the journey Use your training and recovery-support skills to help clients feel safe, respected, and understood Utilize appropriate de-escalation, motivational, and crisis-support techniques when needed Maintain strong professional boundaries and client confidentiality Communicate professionally with clients, families, treatment providers, and Wings to Recovery staff Recognize concerns that require additional assistance and communicate them appropriately Complete required trip documentation accurately and promptly Use mobile applications for communication, navigation, scheduling, and documentation Maintain your certification/credential and participate in required training Certification Is Important to Us This position is intended for credentialed recovery professionals. Applicants should currently hold a state-issued or state-recognized peer support, peer recovery, recovery specialist, recovery coach, or equivalent credential. Credential titles vary by state, so your certification does not have to be called "Certified Peer Recovery Specialist" to qualify.

Our assignments vary considerably. Some transports may only take an hour or two, while others can involve 8, 10, or occasionally 12+ hours on the road. You must be comfortable with long-distance travel and genuinely enjoy driving. Unlike traditional transportation work, however, the person sitting be​h​ind you is the reason you're there. Your ability to connect appropriately with that individual, maintain boundaries, recognize when someone needs additional support, and represent Wings to Recovery professionally is every bit as important as your ability to safely reach the destination. What Makes Someone Successful at Wings to Recovery? We're looking for people who understand that peer work isn't about "fixing" someone. It's about meeting people where they are. The strongest candidates are compassionate without being judgmental, supportive without overstepping professional boundaries, comfortable communicating with people from many different backgrounds, dependable when they accept an assignment, and capable of working independently. You may spend several hours one-on-one with a client. We want that client to arrive at their destination feeling that they were treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and humanity. Schedule This is not a traditional Monday-Friday, 9-to-5 peer-support position. Transportation needs vary based on treatment admissions, discharges, and client circumstances. Assignments may occur during weekdays, evenings, nights, or weekends and can vary significantly in length. Flexibility is important. This position can be an excellent fit for credentialed peer professionals who appreciate variety, independence, travel, and the opportunity to make a difference outside of a traditional office or treatment-center environment.
