Job Overview ; Join the team at Tik Tok American Rides LLC as we expand our premier Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) operations into Houston! In this vital role, you will operate your own vehicle to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for injured workers, medical patients, and individuals with mobility challenges across Houston and Harris County. We serve both ambulatory clients (passengers who walk independently) and wheelchair clients requiring specialized assistance. Ultimate Schedule Flexibility (Non-Exclusive Contract) We respect your independence! This is a non-exclusive 1099 independent contractor position. Even if you currently drive for other rideshare apps, medical transport fleets, or delivery services, you can absolutely partner with Tik Tok American Rides LLC too. Mix and match your current routes with our scheduled medical trips to maximize your daily income. Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate your vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and company policies. Assist ambulatory passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle safely as needed. Assist wheelchair passengers with boarding, disembarking, and proper 4-point wheelchair securement using standard safety techniques. Maintain clear, timely communication with our dispatch office via tablet/smartphone apps. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers, addressing their needs with patience, care, and professionalism. Conduct quick vehicle inspections before trips to ensure cleanliness and safety compliance. Maintain accurate electronic logs of trips and passenger pick-ups inside our dispatch system.
Requirements Vehicle Requirement:
Must own or operate a clean 4-door vehicle (Sedan, SUV, or Minivan) for ambulatory transport, OR a Wheelchair Accessible Van (WAV) equipped with a ramp or lift for wheelchair transport. All vehicles must be model year 2016 or newer (not older than 10 years) to meet strict medical contract safety compliance.
Age Requirement:
Must be at least 25 years old due to commercial compliance guidelines. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License. Clean driving record (No major violations, DUI, or recent at-fault accidents). Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening (mandatory for medical contract compliance). Physical ability to push, load, unload, and safely secure passengers in wheelchairs. A reliable smartphone or tablet with mobile data for dispatch tracking. Strong communication and customer service skills in English. Prior experience in NEMT, healthcare transit, paratransit, rideshare, or caregiving is a major plus, but we are willing to train the right safe driver!
